Our story begins on the eve of World War II. A young medical student apprentices to a doctor and pharmacist who has used herbal formulas in Vienna. Faced with a shortage of medicines in the post-war period, the young doctor Dr. Pamukov was forced to immediately apply his new knowledge about medicinal plants. This ignited a decade of scientific and practical interest in phytotherapy, which culminated with the opening of the Phytotherapy Research Base at the Ministry of Health at the Sofia Regional Hospital.
